It reminds me of a sausage tree. There are not whole a lot of elegant examples of large log-like fruits hanging-off plants in nature:
They are very hard and woody. I don’t believe they are edible.
It is an African tree, but I have seen some in a private rainforest, here, in South Florida. I suspected it was African when I found several examples of large-cats hanging off them:
What? How? Wonder.
