How Old is the NYSE Stock Market Bull in NYC? This is Interesting.

It was installed on December 15th in 1989 by an artist named Di Modica to symbolize strength after recovery from the Black Monday crash in 1987. The interesting part is that it was totally privately funded (7100-pounds of bronze at $360,000 from creation to install) and installed, without the knowledge or permission of the city, as a gift to the city.

A piece of unsanctioned art by an unknown artist, and it now incontrovertibly symbolizes the NYC, the NYSE, and the spirit of a strong market.

Good for him.
